Shocking as that sounds, yes, it includes many, many sex offenders. If the State is allowed to declare them free, it will make their record look good, as if they didn't re-offend.
The fact is, they have no idea if they have re-offended. Are our children and grandchildren at risk due to this new catch and release policy, and now a "get out of jail free" card to offenders?
Of course they are. In their report, KCRA stated that 70% of parolees re-offend. That is not a good or reassuring number. The sex offenders never registered and cut off their ankle bracelets..
We need to make the public more aware of these offenders. Watch your children carefully. Just because we live in a rural area, does not mean that we are any safer.

Now this story is worthy of a front page article. Thank you, Sierra Sentinel.
This is what i care about, not some wedding. we aren't safe with all these parolees running around free.
Can they do that? Just set them free? That is scary.

If any of you went to Arnold Town Hall Meet w/ SHerrif you heard them say that the monitoring system in Calaveras County is very strange and most importantly after monitors attached-there is no one working at probation/parole office after late pm nor on weekends to monitor the people wearing the monitors. The Parole CHief doesn't want to release this monitoring responsibility to the Sheriff (who has 24/7 staffing already) and the equipment to monitor these people-SO ONCE AGAIN-POLITICS of some sort is beating up our public rather than the use of common sense. By the way-it seems the Supervisors were involved in the process of approving who would be involved on the ankle bracelet monitoring process-Pretty SAD commentary there as well.
