CHP reports that on June 1, 2013 at around 9:14 AM Anthony Burgos of Manteco was driving his motorcycle south at 45 MPH on Obyrnes Ferry Rd near Cosmic Ct. in Copperopolis.
He was following a pickup truck that was slowing to make a left turn. Burgos failed to observe the truck slowing until he was too close.
Burgos applied the brakes on the motorcycle but was unable to maintain control of the motorcycle.
It slid onto the ground and both the motorcycle and Burgos came to rest in the traffic lane. Burgos was transported by ground ambulance to Sonora Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
