Tourist Bureau for Hwy 4 Corridor only!

Supervisors from District 1, 2 and 5 didn't seem real happy with the presentation from Stephen Kautz and the Executive Director of the Angels Camp Visitors Bureau.

For good reason, since the Visitors Bureau only promotes the Hwy 4 corridor, obviously ignoring the rest of the County.

Was it Al Segalla who said he thinks the TOT tax should be 20%, like in San Francisco? Did he also say that he likes the fair representation of all the members on the Visitors Bureau? Good for him, because those things are both true!

Peter Racz was the smart one, saying blatantly that they ignore the entire area where he lives, Hwy 26, the golf courses, etc.

Yes! Please direct transient renters to anywhere past Tulloch! Lets spread the joy of loud, obnoxious, inconsiderate, and trash leaving renters through out the county! Why should Tulloch have all this fun?
Lets make it he TOT tax 50% and start a fund to clean and ready the county's businesses for the next summer.
And what's the correct title for this bureau, Angels Camp Visitors Bureau or the Calveras County Visitors Bureau in Angels Camp?

Tulloch gets its business from internet rental sites, not the tourist bureau. But if you read this website you know that there are many, many calls about rentals to the sheriff on weekends in Ebbetts Pass. Are we all treated the same? I don't think so.

LOL! And the difference between a transient renter and a tourist is? I would think the tourist when choosing a vacation spot would read and research areas through various on line sites, such as a VISTOR'S BUREAU!
Then they would settle on a location be it Tulloch, Angels, or Ebbetts. Then reserve a room/house/cabin accordingly
And yes, folks are treated different. Some have courage and foresight to set rules and guidelines where they are needed. While others cower to home owner greed, HOA's who wave the flag for freedom, Property Management muscle , and of course, Callaway.

Isn't the tourist bureau a private club the also gets tax money? They make you join and pay their club to advertise anything on their website. Use the bigger ones for rentals! It gets better customers.
