According to the Calaveras Sheriff's Office, on August 28, 2013 at approximately 1 AM Sheriff's deputies responded to the 8000 block of Mountain Meadows Drive in Mountain Ranch for a report of a structure fire.
Upon arrival they found a single family home fully engulfed in flames, and were advised that two adults may have been trapped inside the home.
Sheriff's detectives and arson investigators from Cal-Fire responded to investigate the incident.
During the investigation they found two deceased persons inside the home. The incident is still under investigation and a cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
