OP-ED...Calaveras Supervisors: Al Segalla Writes Letter to Rebecca Willis

There are always the regulars at every Calaveras Board of Supervisors meetings, a group of Tea
Party members sit in the front row and make comments at each meeting, often about UN Agenda 21.

One of these who speaks during the Public Comment period is Al Segalla.

On August 27, 2013 he stated  that he had written a real friendly letter to Rebecca Willis, who resigned from the Planning Director job last week. Was this using letterhead from an organization he is part of?

He said that he had wished her well in the future, etc. Then he said that he has received criticism from the public for his letter.

Having never seen the letter,  we can't figure it out; at this meeting he stated that she did two things wrong while she was Planning Director. He did not elaborate.

That is the first criticism we have ever heard from Al Segalla in regards to Rebecca Willis. In fact, he is on film praising everything she did for 2 years.

Has Mr. Segalla renounced his Tea Party membership? Why is he NOW trying to back off from his open celebration of her life while she was here?

To those of us watching Mr. Segalla, his seeming reversal makes no sense, and we feel that his real feelings about Willis were those made while she was still Planning Director for Calaveras County.

You just can't have it both ways, Mr. Segalla!!

What was your experience with the planning director? You seem to express personal knowledge?
By the way, Mr. Segalla is not a tea party member, He is a Libertarian. There is a difference, but also a common thread: America.

Segalla is a Libertarian? Yeah, about as much as Tryon. If Segalla cared about property rights (isn't that what Libertarians are all about?) he would never have praised THAT Planning Director. He must be secretly tea party. I heard and saw him on video too.

So what if he loves her. All us Democrats do!

Do we really want everyone to be the same? Think the same? Why is variety allowed in the spice of life but excluded from the fabric of life in Calaveras County?

In most areas the Tea Party has been put out to pasture through some cognitive thinking by rational folks. Why is it still hanging on in Calaveras county? Is this the pasture?
