On January l8, 2013 at 7:50 AM, according to CHP, they were dispatched to an injury traffic collision on Hwy 49 near Union Mine Road in San Andreas.
Upon their arrival, it was determined that the driver, Megan Aguilar (50) of Angels Camp, driving a 2002 Volvo station wagon, was reaching for her coffee when she allowed her vehicle to drift off of the roadway and onto the shoulder.
;Aguilar over-corrected and lost control of her vehicle. After colliding with a street sign on Union Mine Road, the Volvo continued down the embankment west of the roadway.
The Volvo then overturned at least once. The driver was transported via ground ambulance to Mark Twain Hospital in San Andreas, and later flown to Modesto Memorial Hospital.
According to CHP alcohol/ and or drugs were not contributing factors in this collision. The driver was not using a cellular telephone at the time of this collision.
