CHP assigned to Caltrans Hwy 4 project due to complaints

October 2, 2014 at 7 AM:  A CHP unit  has been assigned to the Caltrans Hwy 4 work project for the first time since it left Murphys, headed for Arnold. Hopefully, this will help prevent any accidents.

After the recent complaints, witnessed by ourselves on two occasions, of semis flying down the hill and jack-knifing into oncoming traffic, for ONE DAY, the big rigs were told to leave their flasher warning lights on and SLOW DOWN!  But yesterday, they were right back up to their old tricks.

If safety and traffic are such a big concern on this project, maybe they should be doing this job at night. Seen it done up here on many hiway jobs.

I heard they can't do this at night because Caltrans workers are afraid of bears.
