Major injuries in Car vs. Tree--CHP update

   UPDATE by CHP:  Per CHP at 10:40 AM, Danial Carlson (44) of La Grange was driving northbound on Zarzamora Street at Alameda Drive at 30 MPH.

    According to Carlson, he fell asleep
and allowed the 1992 Honda to drift to the left.

   The Honda traveled onto the east shoulder and struck a tree head-on. Carlson was pinned in the vehicle and had to be removed by fire department personnel, using the Jaws of Life.

   Carlson was transported by ambulance to Sonora Regional Medical Center for a broken collar bone, pain to his right arm and both legs.

   October 2, 2014 at 8:45 AM:  A traffic accident that was reported at Hwy 132 and Zarzamora Street in La Grange caused major injuries.

   A black Toyota hit a tree at that location. CHP is now clearing the scene, after the injured party was transported to the hospital.  One person was pinned in and had to be helped to escape the vehicle.
