UPDATE: We were surprised to learn that Shirley Ryan, who works in the Admin Office is taking over as CAO until 2015, when the new Board will hire another CAO.
As is so common in Calaveras County, the Board of Supervisors apparently forced Lori Norton to resign her position as County Administrative Officer, effective at the end of 2014. With the religious
right being allowed to take over and the Mental Health probable lawsuit, we are not surprised.
It seems that she had a contract with a paid leave for that length of time after she was let go, or forced to resign. There have been several instances of some disagreement with Chair Pontiff Ponte, and Ponte appeared not to be at all prepared for the last Board meeting, fumbling her way through the agenda.
Most likely they will again appoint Brent Harrington to take over temporarily, while they look for another suck**, ....er possible candidate for the job.

When did Mr. Harrington leave as the interim Planning Director? His interim time is limited as a retiree.
Putting Ms. Ryan in limits the budget financial exposure. Might even provide a savings?
