Calaveras County hires new Public Works Director without contract or pay discussion?

Calaveras County Supervisors just issued a press release that in a Closed Session they held on February 11, 2015 they hired a new Public Works Director.

His name is Jeffrey Crovitz and he will begin the job on March 23, 2015. Although no discussion of compensation or contract was discussed at their meeting, Mr. Crovitz will be paid $148,740 annually, the current rate of pay for Public Works Director.

Has anyone else googled his name? I did and the public disciplinary document for him from Caltrans is disturbing to say the least. This is the person our board wants to lead the County???

I did read the 30 page report.

It's a quibbling Caltrans pile of poop.

And it's 20 years old.

It may be 20 years old but anyone who does not have the moral compass to know that they should not be using work time and equipment, paid for by the taxpayers, for personal gain, is not someone I would employ.

A 20 year old report? It gives me great comfort to know there is someone in this County who has never done anything wrong in his/her life!

So if you compare Garcia with the $19,283 raise, the one who crashed all the public works projects including the bridge over Lake Tulloch with the new fellow; Who would you say is the best fit for Calaveras County? Are you still wondering why nothing is happening in Calaveras County, other than higher costs and less services?
