Yesterday it was announced that the 1200 acre parcel donated by a local developer in Placer County will indeed become a large University.
Warwick University of the UK plans a large 6000 student campus on the site. Some in Placer County feel it may be a "stalking horse", as one person called it, to get more of the developers projects approved.
An example of a "stalking horse" in Calaveras was attempted in Valley Springs not long ago. However, we saw no evidence of the land being donated.
