Calaveras County for some reason could not come to an agreement with the Calaveras Medical Collective (one of two pot store in Valley Springs) through their Planning Director, so they are now in a court battle with them.
On the Closed Session Agenda for May 12, 2015, the county says they cannot have a pot store within 1000' of a head start preschool. That's odd, because liquor stores and DRUG stores, much more serious dangers, are allowed.
