Overturned Propane Truck in Linden--Hwy 26 closed--CHP officer injured

UPDATE:  A CHP officer suffered major injuries when his motorcycle crashed on the way to this collision this morning.
   UPDATE:  Roadway is finally clear per CHP.

  UPDATE at 11:50 AM:  The propane leak has been contained. A tow truck can now upright the vehicle. Hazmat was unnecessary.


   UPDATE:  At 10 AM San Joaquin County Roads department was notified to take over handling of the road closures on Wall Road. They are at least an hour and a half ETA.


 UPDATE: A tow truck arrived in the area, but it is being held back until the leak is taken care of. Apparently the driver did suffer minor injuries in the crash.


UPDATE at 9:25 AM:  Hwy 26 is now closed at Wall Road in Linden. They have set up a media station for TV and other reporters on the status of the propane truck.
UPDATE:  Authorities are staging this collision at a safe distance due to propane leakage from the tanker. There is also talk of evacuating the area.

  May 25, 2015 at 8:20 AM:  A Propane Truck has overturned on Hwy 26 near Wall Road in Linden, and is smoking.

     CHP, an ambulance and a fire crew are responding to the scene. Use extra caution if you are headed for that area.
