On June 16, 2016 the California High Patrol arrested Jairon Eduardo Mendez (20) at Hwy 26 and Main Street in West Point.
Mendez was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged DUI or Drugs/causing Great Bodily Injury and Alcohol .08 or more Causing Great Bodily Injury, both felonies. This might be related to the crashes into the fire station reported, but we can't confirm it yet.
