UPDATE: The 250 acre Trail Fire is 200 acres in El Dorado County and 50 acres in Placer County so far.
June 28, 2016 at 7:30 PM: What started out as a few acres around 4 PM has exploded into a 200+ acre fire between Foresthill and Auburn in Placer County.
Called the Trail Fire, several tanker planes and helicopters are dumping retardant in an effort to stop it from reaching homes. Evacuations are in effect.
