June 3, 2016 at 11:15 AM: On May 30, 2016 at approximately 9:15 PM an officer from the Angels Camp Police Department was dispatched to a report of an unknown suspect punching a victim in the face in the 300 block of North Main Street.
The victim reported that an unknown male threatened him and told him that he better
not testify in a case involving the suspect's family member.
The unknown male punched the victim multiple times and then chased the victim as he ran away.
the victim ran to a nearby business and called 911. Further investigation identified the suspect as 26 year old Angels Camp resident, Kenneth Peterson.
Peterson was arrested on May 31, 2016 and booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged Witness Intimidation and Battery.
