Per CHP on July 21, 2016 around 9:50 PM Larry Evans (75) of Salida was riding his 2015 Harley Davidson motorcycle on Hwy 108 near Sugar Pine Road in Twain Harte, entering a right curve in the roadway.
Turly A Smolinsky (28) of Riverbank was driving a 2005 Chevrolet was on Hwy 108 in the opposite direction, when for some unknown reason crossed the double yellow lines directly into the path of the Harley.
Evans was ejected after the head-on collision and he landed on the pavement, suffering major injuries. He was taken to Sonora Regional Medical Center.
Neither Smolinsky nor his passenger were injured. Alcohol and or drugs are not belived to be a factor in this collision.
