Yes, it was announced that La La Land had won Best Picture at last nights Oscars. And all the news media was eager to announce it.
However, about 3 minutes later, with all the La La Land cast and execs on stage, it was announced that Moonlight had really won. PriceWaterhouse had give the presenters the wrong card.
To call it an embarrassment it probably not enough. Not only did the La La Land people then have to give back their Oscars, but the mess overshadowed what had been a pretty entertaining evening.
Moonlight thought it was a joke at first, but eventually came up and accepted the award, kind of posthumously.
