Fatal collision in Copperopolis

  According to the CHP, on July 4, 2018 around 2 PM Elijah Joy Curry Jensen (31) of Patterson was driving a 2010 Jeep northbound on Obyrnes Ferry Road near Duchess Drive in Copperopolis at an undetermined speed.

   Daniel Glover (30) of Woodbridge was driving a 2009 Scion southbound on Obyrnes Ferry Road near duchess Drive at an undetermined speed.

   As the two vehicles reached Duchess Drive, Jensen made a left turn directly into the path of Glover's vehicle.

   The front of Glover's vehicle collided with the right side of Jensens' vehicle resulting in the passenger in the Jeep (Daveonne Curry, 71, of Patterson) sustaining life-threatening injuries.

    Curry was transported to Mark Twain Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

    Glover was alone in the Scion and was transported to Modesto Memorial Medical Center with major injuries.

   Rimmington Jensen (3) of Patterson, a passenger in the Jeep, was transported to Sonora Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries.

   The driver of the Jeep was also transported to Sonora Regional with minor injuries. Two other passengers in the Jeep (Kendra Curry, 21, of Patterson and Joshiwan Curry 31, of Patterson) were uninjured.

   Drugs and or alcohol were determined not to be a factor in this collision.
