On February 4, 2019 around 2:50 AM Calaveras Sheriff deputies responded to a residence in
dthe 600 block of Pope Street in San Andreas for a possible physical altercation.
A caller to dispatch reported that 45 year old Donovan Agasi was at that location and possibly causing harm to the resident, a 69 year old female.
Upon arrival deputies detained Agasi and located the female injured inside the residence. and had allegedly been struck in the head with a hammer, causing major injury.
The woman was transported by ambulance to the hospital. Agasi was booked into the Calaveras County Jail on charges of alleged Attempted Murder, Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Elder Abuse, all felonies.
Agasi's bail is $1,000,000. No further information is available at this time. Anyone with pertinent information regarding this incident please call the County Sheriff at 754.6500.
