During the City Council meeting last Tuesday, Michael McHatten mentioned an article in a newspaper as evidence of what the fire code should be. Someone called us here and said "Wow! Now a newspaper is the City's bible?"
McHatten went on to say that this new permit puts all of the liability (lawsuits) on the permit holder, holding the City harmless if the laws are not followed to the letter and the debris burning fire gets away.
