Andes Exhibit in Sonora

Andes Exhibit at CSAC

A gala celebration to mark the grand opening of " Woven Arts of the Andes, the Fabric of a Culture" will be held at the Central Sierra Arts Council on Saturday, July 28, 2012 from 5 to 7 PM.

The public is invited to the reception for CSAC's most  ambitious show of the year featuring a wine tasting provided by Gianelli Vineyards.

   The exhibit, held
at 193 South Washington Street in Sonora, will run from Friday July 27 til Sunday October 7.

Prior to the reception, llamas in full regallia will be on deck on Washington Street to herald the exhibit.

The inspiration for this show began when two well behaved, textile-bedecked llamas trooped into a CSAC Board meeting last year.  Their presence at the meeting was designed to pique the interest of the Board in the hope that it would offer an art exhibit featuring the textiles and related culture of Peru.

You will enjoy a study of the culture and history of the llama and the Incan people of Peru, while you peruse the wonderful exhibits.
