Mrs. Geraldine Jane Shafer

    Mrs Geraldine Jane Shafer, 7 year resident of Lodi, passed away at Mark Twain Convalescent Hospital on July 27, 2012.  She was 88.


    Mrs. Shafer was a native of Iowa City, Iowa and grew up in Marion, Iowa. She served in the US Navy during WWII. Geraldine enjoyed playing bridge.

    She married John Lugg in 1946, and then after a divorce, married Robert Shafer in 1966.

   Mrs. Shafer is survived by her children Patricia Bruna of Valley Springs and Mary Lamb of Des Moines, Iowa, a brother Delmar Burns of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and 4 grandchildren.

   A private funeral was held at San Andreas Memorial Chapel.
