Calaveras Democratic Campaign Headquarters Open

Sharon Romano, Chair of the Democratic Central Committee,  is announcing that the Grand Opening for the Calaveras Democratic Campaign Headquarters in Mokelumne Hill on Saturday July 28, 2012, was a big success.

At least 30 enthusiastic supporters dropped by 8242 Main Street to celebrate. She states that at one point it got so craowded some of the people spilled out onto the sidewalk to continue conversations.

The door prize, a bottle of wine,  was won by Michael Boylson of Mokelumne Hill.

They are selling bottles of wine to benefit the Foothill Conservancy's  Mokelumne River Wild and Scenic Campaign. Wild and scenic designation for this Sierra River between Amador and Calaveras counties will protect 37 miles of free-flowing river for generations to come.

Proceeds from the sale go directly to the campaign. Romano also said that they are looking for volunteers who are willing to donate a few hours to help in the office, which is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 2 P.
