Letter to the Editor; Public Access Complaint

  Dear Editor:
As you know, I am a regular viewer of Channel 9, Calaveras County's Public Access TV station for government meetings.
I have been one of your constant complainers over the last couple of years that someone down at Public Access either doesn't know what they are doing or they intentionally screw things up.

Most of my complaints are based on their favoritism towards certain elected officials and bias during election seaons.
On Tuesday evenings, when (and that's seldom now) the Board of Supervisors meet, that I can watch the meeting from that day. I'm too old to go all the way to San Andreas any more, but like to know what's going on with my tax money.
Last night, that's Tuesday July 24, 2012, the Board of Supervisors did not come on at all that I could find. Now sometimes the screen will say DVD all night long, and sometimes they play the wrong tapes, but this time NOTHING.
I have been following that you have tried to help myself and others by complaining to Kathy Northington, with absolutely no results.  Could the reason also be political where she is concerned?
Comcast Cable TV is required to provide a channel for the meetings, so that the public who cannot attend meetings of our elected officials have a chance to watch them in action, even though on tape.
Maybe what they need is to get rid of these people running the Public Access locally, and clean up the problems. This isn't right!  I hold our public elected officials accountable!

The whole thing is outdated. I just wish I could get some timely info on forest fires or medical/flu alerts, amber alerts, lost ppl, etc in the area. People can do a quickie cell phone video if they had a way to easily upload info like facebook has. If these channels reported the stuff I find on local online newspapers and facebook then I would watch them. They are too little to late. Give the money and resources to someone who knows what they are doing.
