Ebbetts Pass Pummeled by Storm

If you live in the Ebbetts Pass area of the County, you were awoken around 11:30 PM last night September 5, 2012 by lightning and thunder such as hasn't been heard there in a very long time.

Fortunately after the first strike, the rain began pouring down, ending a threat of lightning caused fires in the forest.

If you live below Murphys, you didn't see much more than a drop or two of rain in this storm although the lightning caused many small fires, the largest being the Salt Fire in Copperopolis.

By noon today, the clouds were leaving the area and the heat was returning, but fall can't be too far away now.
