We may not be able to do much about national politics, but we can
in our own
county.
Candidates Forum - October 25th - 6:30
Don't think it won't matter if you don't come. We need everyone. This is a
chance to make a difference.

Please give us an hour. Come and stand up for CHS.
Let's fill the Room!

Dear (Contact First Name),

The Citizens for a Better Calaveras (CBC), the Calaveras Child Care Council,
and the Resource Connection will host a Candidate Forum on October 25, 2012.

The supervisorial candidates from Districts 1, 2, and 4 have been invited to
participate in the Forum.

This Forum is critical to the Quality of Life in Calaveras County. We hope
you will attend and bring a friend.

The purpose of the Forum is to hear the candidate's position on the delivery
of community services and then their position on the use of the Transient
Occupancy Tax, also called the Hotel Tax, to fund these services.

The CBC is comprised of the following organizations, Calaveras County Fair,
Calaveras County Arts Council, Calaveras Humane Society, Calaveras Visitor's
Bureau, Senior Centers of Calaveras, Friends of the Calaveras Library, and
Calaveras County Parks and Recreation Commission.

This coalition is working together to assure the future of their organizations and the
services they provide to the county by redefining the Transient Occupancy Tax.

It will be held in the Board of Supervisors Chambers, Calaveras County
Government Center, 6:30 p.m., Thursday, October 25.

Pat McGreevy

Citizens for a Better Calaveras

If successful this effort will bring thousands of dollars to Calaveras Humane Society for years to come.

PLEASE try and come out on October 25th, help us fill the Supervisor's
Chambers to show how strong CHS is and how much support we have in this
county.

What i don't understand is, why isn't my favorite 501c3 on this list. who decided, the supervisors? i don't think this is a bit fair. all that money.

Why would you think the Supervisors are behind this? The "COMRADES for a Better Calaveras" (Better as defined by Entitlement at the expense of Business) is behind it. Other non-profits like the Chamber, Resouce Connection (Welfare), etc are supporting it.

You forgot to mention Ex SEIU Organizer Steve Wilensky is trying to leave a lasting socialist legacy. The 99% (non-profits) against the 1% (Lodging Industry).

This Candidate forum is a Circus. 6 questions from a partisan panel, no questions from the public, designed to make supporters like Cliff Edson, Chris Wright, Debbie Ponte look like the good guys for supporting a 1 sided issue and Tom Tryon, Gary Tofanelli and Randall Bryce look like the bad guys for weighing the pros and cons and taking the time to consider the position of lodging owner who oppose it.

Nope, can't blame the Supervisors for this. Wilensky is pushing it and his MINI-Me Chris Wright is bobbling his no-brainer pinhead in support and hopeful Cliff Edson is abandoning any loyalty to business owners and selling his soul to the Citizens for a Better Calaveras to get elected.
