October 22, 2012 at 3:10 PM: Michele L. Eastwood, 40 of Arnold, was driving a 2005 Dodge westbound on Murphys Grade Road while intoxicated, according to CHP, just west of Upper French Gulch Rd. in Murphys at an unknown rate of speed.
Due to driving while intoxicated she made an unsafe left (south) turn. Due to her unsafe turn she allowed the Dodge to leave the westbound lane and enter the eastbound lane.
The Dodge continued acress the eastbound lane and into the eastbound shoulder. Consequently, the left front end of the Dodge collided with the steel guard rail.
After the collision, the Dodge spun across the westbound lane and came to rest in the eastbound lane.
Eastwood then fled the scene and was later apprehended by CHP and arrested.
