May 11, 2013: At around 5 PM tonite the step-brother of Leila Fowler was arrested for her alleged murder.
After two weeks of investigations, and two especially false trails, the evidence led to the arrest.
The discovery left the entire Rancho Calaveras subdivision in fear, and much time was wasted chasing false leads.
The step-brother had originally told deputies that he found his sister and that some grey haired man had run from him as he chased him away.
Then one neighbor was totally discredited after leading deputies on a false trail after saying that she saw someone running from the house. Sheriff Kuntz said that she was an attention seeker.
Unfortunately, many feared this would be the end result. Its so sad for the parents, who now have lost both children.
