Angels Camp FINALLY releases fireworks warning

For questionable reasons the Angels Camp City Council allows fireworks within the City limits on private property.

They have now released a notice that NO public displays of fireworks are scheduled inside the City limits. (what does that mean?)

The Bret Harte High School Sports Center parking lot will be available to the  public for fireworks on July 4, 2014  from 6 to 10 PM. So this IS scheduled?

Then finally the notice warns that our area is DRY and susceptible to FIRE (2 in the area in the past two weeks)  and that only those marked "safe and sane" are allowed. Now if that isn't a contradiction of statements.

The only truly "safe and sane" attitude according to the majority of people we have spoken with is  NO FIREWORKS.  If they emit any spark, they cannot truly be "safe and sane" any more than a lit match or cigarette thrown into the grass.

Boy did we drunks have some FUN lighting SAFE AND SANE LEGAL fireworks Friday night!
I had a 5 gallon pail of water to drown the used 'works in. I had my 2-1'2" fire hose attached to a hydrant in front of my home. I lit them off on my huge concrete driveway.
All the while supporting the local elementary school and their programs which are still falling short of taxpayer and lotto funds.
