Jack A. Dean (21) of Mokelumne Hill, was driving a 2000 Mazda Protégé southbound on Jesus Maria Road in Mokelumne Hill at a speed greater than 25 MPH.
For an unknown reason, Dean allowed the vehicle to travel to the right, where it left the roadway and subsequently collided with a tree.
Dean was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision, and alcohol was determined to be a factor in this collision according to CHP. No other vehicles were involved in this collision.
Dean was transported to Doctors Hospital in Modesto via air ambulance for treatment of his injuries.

Alcohol played a role.. imagine that!! Hope this youngster learnt a lesson. Next time it might be a body bag instead of a hospital bed.
