A native of French Camp, he had lived in Valley Springs for 6 years and was a retired bus washer for Mountain Transit Company.
Mr. Collins was an avid fisherman and his faithful companion was his dog Bolt.
He is survived by his wife Rachel Collins of San Andreas, mother Donna Jean Rodgers of Valley Springs; son Jeffrey Alan Collins and daughter Jennifer Jean-Louise Collins; sister Jean Marie Collins of Stockton and brother Thomas Richard Collins of Valley Springs.
He was predeceased by his father William Edward Collins and brother John E. Johnston.
