Dwight Edwin 'Ed' Baker of Calaveras County

      Dwight Edwin 'Ed' Baker was born on November 21, 1939 to Fred and Mona Baker in Ione.

    Ed attended Calaveras County Elementary Schools and Calaveras High School.
After graduating, he enlisted in the US Navy, serving with honor and retiring in 1977.

   After retirement and moving back to Calaveras County, Ed attended Delta JC, where he excelled in woodworking. He built furniture, wood replica cars, rocking animals and other toys.

   Ed is survived by his wife Mary Lynn Kesterson Baker. children Rebecca Lynn Baker Berube (Joseph) of Elk Grove, Kenneth Dale Baker of Vallecito and Victoria Elaine Baker Dunn of Elk Grove; grandchildren Joey and Latoya Berube of Elk Grove, Jason and Paris Berube of Elk Grove, Holly Self of Twin Falls Idaho and Katie and Levi Owensby of Modesto; five great-grandchildren Marquese, Jason, Camille, Cordell and Tianna Berube of Elk Grove; a sister Francis Krout of St. George, Utah; two brothers John Baker of Sacramento and George Baker of Seattle Washington, along with many nieces and nephews.

   Ed was preceded in death by his son Timothy Edwin Baker, parents Mona and Fredrick Baker, sisters Anita Hopkins and Paulena Will.

   Services will be held on Saturday May 9, 2015 at 11 AM at the Angels Camp Memorial Chapel. Internment will be Tuesday May 12, 2015 at 11:30 AM at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon.

   Angels Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
