On April 28, 2015 around 12 PM CalFire responded to a report of a grass fire on Ospital Road in Valley Springs.
The fire was caused by escaped debris burning. One acre was burned before CalFire and Calaveras Consolidated Fire extinguished it, using a water tender and handcrews.
As of today, May 1, 2015 permits are required for burning in the area and strict rules will apply.
