PG&E shuts off Amador County power

Due to a new policy to try and prevent more fires, PG&E cut off power to 70,000 customers Sunday night October 14, 2018.

The reason is because of the wind and dry conditions. This will be done regularly to try and stop fires from starting or spreading due to power lines.

So get yourself a generator to keep handy.  This is probably the smartest move they have made so far.

Not the smartest move in my opinion. Half of Sutter Creek was paralyzed by this. Local businesses closed their doors losing thousands of dollars in revenue. The power was out from West Point through Placerville and up to Camino. No power anywhere near Apple Hill. Local Businesses lost money across three counties.
