According to CHP on May 5, 2019 around 7:50 AM Anthony Perez (27) of Riverside was driving a 2017 Freightliner on Hwy 49 headed down
to the Amador County line at around 35-45 MPH.
As he approached a curve with a 30 MPH warning sign, his speed caused him to overturn the semi, it slid on its side after colliding with the guardrail before coming to a stop.
Perez was taken to Sutter Amador Hospital with major injuries. Hwy 49 was closed down for 4 hours for investigation and removal of the truck.
Alcohol and or drugs are not considered to be a factor in this collision.
