Another Board of Supervisors Waste of Time?

Merita Callaway Dist.3
Several members of the public spoke against the Board of Supervisors continuing in yet another regional water board at Tuesday's meeting.  Brought up was the fact that the County representative has not the mental capacity or knowledge to handle our watershed issues.  The expense of simply joining was also an issue, in light of the current budget crisis.
Another issue was that this group cannot move forward on any issue without a concensus (100% approval) on any subject that comes before them. This means that is the time they have been in existence that nothing has been done. Supervisor Callaway stated that they are discussing changing that problem at their July meeting.
The main complaint seemed to be that the Supervisor (Callaway) who is appointed to this organization does not accurately or properly represent the public. This organization does not allow any public representatives. The Board of Supervisors  passed this despite the objections voiced by the public.
