Another $100,000 for General Plan

After paying a consultant around $1.5 million, and many years more of staff time in the Planning Department, on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 our elected Board of Supervisors calmly (as if it were NO BIG DEAL), approved another $100,000 to an anti-business, anti-job General Plan.

Our Supervisors fight against growth that might
interfere with the environment, unless it's the
clear-cutting, which they have allowed in our
forests of Ebbetts Pass! Why? Private property rights?
Or only private property rights for Callaway and
Wilensky's clear cutting friends?
The future of Calaveras County is already looking glum (actually bleak)
for most likely the next 20 years, but these 5 Supervisors continue to throw money at making it much worse.

After watching the Planning Commission meeting last week, in which Dave Haley and Castle and Cooke tried to push through their next development, it became obvious that our Supervisors, and the Planning Commissioners they appointed plan to keep Calaveras County in a depression.

During last night's Copperopolis Community Plan meeting, the planning director announced the Board of Supervisors has placed a time limit on the General Plan of 1 year to complete it. Another announcement, the COG grant request for Copperopolis Community Plan was not approved. That means no consultant for the Copperopolis Community Plan.
