June 17, 2013: There were two fires that started over the weekend in the Madera and Mariposa areas that we can update.
The Rolling Fire off Hwy 41 & Road 145 northwest of Friant has grown to 482 acres but is now 80% contained.
The Castens Fire in Mariposa County began off Castens Rd, east of Hwy 140 in the Midpines area. It has grown to 1000 acres. Evacuations are in effect for Hites Cove, Jerseydale and Scott Road. There is no containment at this time.
