More inmates being released on the public

It was announced late yesterday that another 9000 inmates have been ordered by the courts to be released from California prisons.

Many are sex offenders, who failed to register where they lived in the past. Others are non-violent criminals, thieves, druggies, etc.

The Judges told Governor Jerry to go pound sand! There was even talk of renting beds from counties. Have they called here. We have 80+ unaccounted for empty beds and I would think a county on the verge of insolvency (Chair Callaway's word), would be thrilled to fill the vacancies. Of course, that would require a full complement of correctional staff. There's the rub.
