As Cal Fire lowered the number of actual residences burned in Calaveras County to 475, they raised the number of what are now being referred to as NON-residences to 371. They had been referred to as outbuildings in prior reports.
We are told the reason for this change is that people who were living in non-permitted homes or illegal mobile homes are not being counted as actual residences by Calaveras County.
That most likely means that liability and aid will be withheld to those residents; they were "off the grid", so to speak.
