CCWD answers to the public they serve????

On the Home Page of the Calaveras County Water District's website it states boldly "CCWD answers to the public we serve through a 5 member Board of Directors.   Each Director is elected by voters within their respective boundaries and serve four year alternating terms."

Hard to believe they actually have that in writing.

To paraphrase, "Ask our clerk Joel Metzger", is the main response. "I don't talk to ratepayers. I don't answer complaints. That's Metzger's job. We pay him big bucks to be the sap," we hear ratepayers are told, over and over again.

How does CCWD's Board get away with this?

Since we live in District 3, we have requested answers to questions about the service we receive to Bertha Underhill, who has NEVER responded to our needs. So, they need to change the website to state the truth, in our opinion.

It is true that Metzger makes nearly $150 grand a year, maybe more with benefits, and with him, they do not need directors, who avoid assisting, answering questions or solving any policy problems.

In the opinion of many ratepayers we have asked, they need to either eliminate the Directors, since they are apparently not needed, or eliminate the money they waste paying Metzger to do their job; one or the other.
