Water District approves Warren Act contract lobby

Calaveras County Water District, to which every property owner pays taxes, pays out a lot of our water rates money every year for lobbying Congress.

In kind of a backwards move, the CCWD Board yesterday voted to continue to approve the lobbying for a Warren Act contract in Washington DC so that they might store up to 100,000 acre feet of water in Melones Reservoir in the future.

This is not a sure thing!   It may not even be voted on until next year, if ever.
CCWD's GM jumped the gun and tried to get the Calaveras Supervisors to approve their lobbying ahead of even his own board's official approval.

And so yesterday they held a Special Meeting just to agendize and approve the GM's lobbying effort.
