Donald Bruce Schmidt of San Andreas, was born on January 12, 1943 in Sacramento. He passed away due to a car accident in Amador County on October 7, 2015.He held an Associates Degree in Business from Modesto Junior College and served 4 years in the Army Reserves.
The spent most of his life in the hardware and lumber business, but most recently he was a transportation specialist for foster children.
He was a Volunteer Firefighter with the Ebbetts Pass Fire Protection District for over 20 years; something he did with both of his sons.
He loved boating with friends, working around the house, and tinkering with anything he could get his hands on.
Donald is survived by his wife Donna Schmidt, son and daughter-in-law Michael & Lynn Schmidt, grandson Sage Michael Schmidt, and brother and sister-in-law Robert & Brenda Schmidt.
He was predeceased by his son Darren Bruce Schmidt.
Services will be held on Friday October 16, 2015 at 3 PM at San Andreas Memorial Chapel on St. Charles Street.
San Andreas Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
