UPDATE: We just received information from Leslie Davis that Junior Livestock and the "Friends" that there is no rift between the two groups;
only that they are recommending the Junior Livestock should get their own 501c3.
We want to thank Leslie, who is always open and forthcoming with information regarding the "Friends of the Fair". We believe this is why they are now so successful at helping the Fairgrounds improve.

Minutes of an August 2015 Special meeting, just released by Calaveras Friends of the Fair indicate a split between the group and the Junior Livestock Committee due to some ongoing problems, especially in controlling the financial details.
It was suggested that they form their own 501c3 for fundraising. The President Jeff Johnson was instructed to meet with the group.
We feel that Leslie Davis is instrumental is revising by-laws and making sure the Friends of the Fair is honest and above board with the public and their donors.
