At the September 21, 2016 Angels Camp City Council meeting, it was announced that Amanda Darby-Davis had withdrawn her application for the council.
We feel that Elaine Morris wanted to appoint Michael Darby because he was a true local resident, and we agree with her premise, but Darby was not prepared to take a seat. Morris was the only vote against Metildi.
The older, long-time residents of Angels Camp have not been well-represented in recent councils. And many of them are afraid of running due to bad feelings about decisions that must be made.
Unfortunately, Angels Camp is a 'rumor' and 'bad talk' kind of town by those who don't agree with you.
