Angels Camp Police chase down suspects

   On September 17, 2016 around 1:15 PM Angels Camp Police attempted to stop a vehicle with expired registration at Hwy 4 and Angels Oaks Road.

   The officer involved recognized the occupants from prior contacts and when the vehicle attempted to flee westbound on Hwy 4, Angels Police, along with the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office pursued the vehicle, reaching speeds of 85 MPH.

   After the Ford Mustang experienced mechanical problems near Stallion Way, the suspect driver was non-compliant and refused to exit the vehicle, so he was tazed.
   The suspect then attempted to run on foot and had to be physically restrained, fighting with officers.  The female passenger was also taken into custody. A small grass fire was also started by the suspect, but was quickly extinguished by fire

   Frank Joseph Sota (38) of Angels Camp was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged Assault with a Deadly Weapon (the vehicle) on a Peace Officer, Evading a Peace Officer, Resisting arrest by a Peace Office, Driving with a Suspended License and for warrants out of Texas.

   The female passenger Stacy Rae McBride (34) of Angels Camp was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged Violation of Probation and Possession for Sale of a Controlled Substance.
