According to the CHP report on September 7, 2018 Roxy Eckardt (28) of Mokelumne Hill was driving a 2008 Nissan on Hwy 49 at Pool Station Road.
As she was approaching the rear of a 2005 Volkswagen being driven by Katrina Masselas (38) of San Andreas, her attention was drawn to the toddler in the back seat.
Eckardt did not notice Masselas slowing to turn onto Poole Station Road and rear-ended the Volkswagen.
Masselas was taken to Modesto Memorial with major injuries. Eckardt was not injured. Drugs and or alcohol were not considered a factor in this collistion.
