15,000 more acres added to Dixie Fire

  UPDATE:  579,614 acres are now reported as the acres burned, 10,000 more than earlier this morning.

 UPDATE at 7:15AM on August 16, 2021. The Dixie Fire is now 569,707 acres and is still at 31% containment, another 14,000 acres since yesterday.

 

UPDATE: Total acreage in the Dixie Fire is now 554,816 as of 11:30 AM, another 4000 acres.

 The destruction caused by the Dixie Fire just goes on and on. Another 15,000 acres has been
burned in the past 24 hours.  1120 structures have been destroyed so far.

   The containment is still listed at 31% as of August 15, 2021 at 12 Noon.  A ZOOM community meeting will be held at 7:30 PM tonight on Plumas and Lassen Facebook pages.
