According to CHP on August 8, 2021 around 2:45 PM Taher Hanifeh (22) of Elk Grove was
driving a 2006 Toyota on Obyrnes Ferry Road at Hwy 4.Matthew Lockett (47) of Modesto was driving a 2012 Ford F150 in the opposite direction.
Hanifeh apparently entered the intersection and directly into the path of the Ford, which struck the Toyota on the right side.
Hanifeh was taken to Modesto Memorial with moderate injuries. His passenger Amjed Manifah (21) of Sacramento was also taken to Modesto Memorial with moderate injuries. Omar Hanifeh (24) of Elk Grove and Mohamad Althan (27) of Elk Grove were taken to Doctors Medical Center with major injuries.
Lockett was taken to Modesto Memorial with minor injuries and his passenger Richard Kieth (63) of Modesto was taken to Doctors Medical Center with major injuries.
Drugs nor alcohol are believed to be a factor in this collision.
